Notes of Thanks...

Last week on Administrative Professional's Day, I was blessed to have the kind folks at my job that I work with do some awesomely nice things for me.  To show my appreciation for their generosity and kindness I made these small thank you cards for them.

I can't believe it...I didn't use my cricut one bit on these...but I did use my cuttlebug!!  I used it to cut out the scalloped circle, the inside circle and swiss dot the center of the circle. The inside of the cards were stamped with coordinating Stampin Up inks. The finished card size is 4"x4".

Have a great day!

Recycle, Reuse and Renew...

Happy Saturday!
This past week for Administrative Professional's Day I received several cards.  One of the cards had all these cute positive descriptive words on it.  With the challenge over at the Made Especially For You blog in mind, I knew right away that I wanted to make a card with those words.  The challenge is to create a card using a recycled material.

Here's the card before I pulled it off it's original card base.
Here's my card using part of the card front of the store bought card.
I used the cricut cartridge Letter Envy to cut the U and R.

Well, that's it for me today. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Happy Hippo Birthday!

Hello!
I'm slowing trying to build my stash of cards and at the same time use all of my cartridges and different cuts from those cartridges.  I tend to use the same cuts on the same carts all the time and I want to break away from that.  I'm also trying to do that with color as well(this will be a real challenge for me).  I like this hippo, it reminds me of when we were young and you have that treat the other kids don't and you're almost dancing with it in your hand, well that's exactly what comes to mind with this Happy Birthday Hippo.  Doesn't she look pleased with that ice cream cone?
Oh, and in the Just Wondering Wednesday question I posed I didn't give my response...we plan to vacation this summer. It's been a while and this year I think we just might.  Keeping my fingers crossed!

Enjoy your day!

Just Wondering Wednesday!

Hello!
In today's Just Wondering Wednesday question, I'm wondering... "Are you planning to vacation or stay-cation this summer?"
Today's card was so much fun to put together!  I thought this would be a good card for a friend of mine that I haven't seen in a while.  She lives just far enough that its a long drive, but short enough that the friendship is worth it, so I plan to send her this card to see when we can get together to catch up.

There are a couple of challenges going on and as I was looking through blogs last night I saw where this card just might fit into a couple of categories, so why not give it a go!

Thank you so much for popping by!

I'm entering this card in the CARDZTV: Cricut Cardz Challenge "April Showers" and My Craft Spot's Challenge #53:  Things That Go

Have a great day everybody

In Honor of Administrative Professional's Day

Hello Everybody,
This week is so dear to me because its Administrative Professional's Week! If you've read my profile you know I work full time. I'm an Administrative Assistant/Professional.  I really like my work and if you get a good boss it can be a very rewarding career.  I also consider it to be a profession of security because usually where there is big business...there's a big boss that needs an assistant.

I don't have a card or project today, but I do have something to share.  I have a button you can grab and put on your blog for the Administrative Professionals that may visit your blog or a little something to recognize the Administrative Professionals in your life.  If you don't know of any Administrative Professionals, why not just grab it for me?

All About You...

Hope you all had a great week.  I did, but it went fast! Thanks so much for all the well wishes for my daughter.  When I told her you all were sending her well wishes via my blog, in the fashion of a typical teenager she replied, "Cool".  Allow me to translate...thank you all very much, you're so thoughtful.  Kids today!

Today's card has no rhyme or reason.  I just love this bumble bee, I loved this paper when I saw it, the grey ribbon I found at a dollar store and knew I'd find a use for it.

Hope you have a great weekend.  I pray things go my way  and we get the rain that's in the forecast and I get to stay in and craft all weekend long!

Just Wondering Wednesday!

Hi Everybody,
Last night was Card Swap night and I am pooped!  We have so much fun, time just fly by!  Our hostess Katie did a make and take using the Martha Stewart scoreboard.  I'll show you what we did in the next few weeks.  THANKS KATIE!

There's so much buzz out there right now about the Silhouette, I want to know in today's Just Wondering Wednesday question ... Do you have a Cricut, Silhouette or both?

I'll be back later this week with a project, hope you'll come back too!

Have a great day everybody!

Today Belongs to You...

Hello!
After last week's adventure with my daughter I was ready to spend some time at my craft table.  As usual, I waited until the last minute to get my Card Swap cards done.  This month's theme is:  Use What You Got.  Well now, that's not always my favorite theme because part of the fun in crafting is the shopping and having the excuse that you "need" something for your project, that's what I tell myself when I'm flying down the road to get to the craft store.

We have a small group tomorrow, so having to do only six cards was easy.  Whether we have a small or a large group, we always have a lot of fun.

Be sure to come back and check out the Just Wondering Wednesday question, who knows what I'll want to know.

Have a great day everybody!

Mommie Moments...

Well, as kids and life goes...things happen and throw us a bit off course.  My daughter fell at school and cut her leg pretty bad, so if you've been popping by my blog this week it may seem to you as if it's been Wednesday forever!  Well, you're not alone.  After  paramedics, an emergency room visit, stitches and crutches it looks like the kid is going to live.  It was a fright for a couple of days there and now I'm mom, cook, maid, taxi driver and the NURSE!

She's doing fine, but not able to move around too much and unfortunately, her season of Lacrosse is over.  Now that she's left to recover, I'm back to creating.  Be sure to come back by and see what I've come up with.

Hope to see you back here soon!

Here's a card I created using a sketch from the Made Especially for You Weekly ChallengeI don't usually use sketches, but this one inspired me to create a quick thank you card.

Here's the sketch...
Here's my take on the sketch...(sorry for the shadow)

A Token of Appreciation

Well, my week-long spring break vacation is over and its time to get back to the daily grind.(sigh)  While I was out, my co-worker took care of my desk for the week so I made her this card.  As a token of my appreciation I added in a Starbuck's gift card so she'll know how much I appreciated her this past week.
I considered using twine instead of ribbon on the front, but I reach for ribbon without even thinking. I should place my twine basket closer to my work area to remind myself to use it more often.
I love this stamp set from My Creative Time http://shop.my-creative-time.com/main.sc It has a matching die that's perfect for giving gift cards.

Remember to stop back by for the Just Wondering Wednesday question, who knows what I'll want to know about.

Have a great day everybody!
