What I'm Reading

Hi Friends!!
The other day, I found myself at home alone, the house was really quiet.  No sounds from the televison, no mulled sounds of music from my daughter's room, just the light tag-teamed humming of the HVAC unit and the fridge taking turns letting me know there was some life in the house.  It was then I remembered I had the latest book by Sarah Addison Allen, First Frost. I decided it was the perfect time to see what the Waverly's are up to now.
For 2015 I wanted to start reading again.  I used to read a lot before some of my crafting took over my free time.  I think 2015 would be a good time to rekindle my love for books and share some of the titles here with you.

I am about half way into this one and enjoying it so much.  Have you ever read a book where the characters stay with you long after you finish the book?  It's as if they were friends of yours or people you've met but haven't talked to in a while and you wonder how they are?  Sarah Addison Allen's books are like that for me.

Be sure to check out Sarah Addison Allison's books at your favorite booksellers.  I hope you all have a very fun weekend.  It's errands for me so I'm off.

By friends!!  See you back here soon!

A Cat Happy Birthday

Hi Friends!!
Hope you all are having a great day!  It felt so good getting back in my craft area this weekend. I picked up a few new goodies to play with, one was this stamp by Stampendous.  It made me smile right there in the store, so naturally it had to come home with me.    It's the Icing Fluffles cling stamp...Love it!!!
I used Copic markers to color the image and added Stickles to glitter up that icing.  How fun???!!!
Here's a peek at the markers I used to color the image.

Thanks for stopping by today!!  Have a blessed week!!
I just love the face on that cat, here's another shot of him...he's so happy!!

Heart on Canvas

Helloooo!!!!!

How are y'all doing?  I'm doing great!  I have been away from my blog for what seems like an eternity and I have missed you all soooo much!!!  I had many false starts at getting a post done, but couldn't really get all the components together.  I, of course took the holidays off to enjoy time with my family and then at the first of the year I had to travel for work.  Its such a busy time in our industry, so its been a pretty hectic start to the year.  I think things are finally slowing down a bit at work and I may be able to get a blog post done on a little more consistent basis.  Fingers crossed!!

I'll get myself started off with a little Valentine's Day craft(shown to you a day late so my girls wouldn't see it).  A Valentine's Day canvas!!
I purchased the easel and denim canvas at Michaels and using my Cricut.  I cut out the heart from the Doodlecharms cartridge.  The heart is scrap fabric from another project.  I applied Heat n Bond to the fabric and ironed it right onto the canvas.
I included them in my girl's Valentine's Day treat baskets.  Oh. and here's a picture of the cute little Valentine's Day treats I created for my co-workers.
These flat/one sheet cards were created with the  Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge, Fuzzies from Michaels and York Peppermint Patties.  I used my heart punch for the heart and the stamp is from MCT 100% Sweetness stamp set.  Quick and easy!

If you visit my blog regularly you know that I enjoy knitting too, so here's a picture of the hat I'm working on for my daughter.

I hope to share more of this creative knitty side of myself with you soon!!

Thank you for stopping by today!!!

More Knitting...

Hi Everyone and Happy Christmas!!!

I wanted to pop over to my blog today to share the blanket I made for my Mom.  A few of you asked that I share it here and I thought I would.  Its a very simple set of stitches and I'm happy to report, she loved it!!!!!
I folded it on the bench so you could see how wide it is.
Nevermind that hair, just focus on that awesome pattern. LOL! :-D (It was really windy that day)
I don't know if any if you knit, but its a very relaxing hobby and I have been really enjoying it.  I think it does something for your stress levels too and as a Mom, full time employee, household manager and so much more...knitting is a gift!

The pattern for this afghan can be found at:
You can find the book here on Amazon.

Hello and how are you??  I'm so glad you stopped by today!  Today is a Woot-Woot-Whaaat...kind'a day around here and just check out why

I'm so excited to be over on Kimberly's blog!!  I'm always happy to share my excitement of My Craft Spot products, just give me a reason!  With the holidays approaching I'm in the process of creating gifts for friends, co-workers and service providers that make me and my family's life easier every day.  Today I'm sharing a treat holder I created.

I used two 12x12 sheets of cardstock, a scorboard and paper trimmer to create this paper bowl.  I filled it with delicious candies. Yum!
I used a couple of doilies and white ink to stamp the punched scallop circle with My Craft Spot, Bon Appetite stamp set.  I'm so glad to be here today to share my love for My Craft Spot products and hope you enjoyed seeing my project.

Head on over to My Craft Spot now and see what awesome deals Kimberly has in store today.

Happy Thanksgiving & Blogging Update...

Hi Everyone,
I'm popping in today to share my family's Thanksgiving cards with you all.  I plan to mail them out tomorrow, but wanted to share them here with you guys first.
I used papers by Recollections for my card base and papers from Stampin Up for the mat.  The patterned paper is also Stampin Up from the  Sweater Weather Designer Paper Series.  The stamp I used is by Meljen's Designs it's their Fall Badge digital stamp. I purchased it last year and remembered it this year.  I nearly let Fall get by without using it, that would have been a crime!
I used a few copics to color the image.  The stamp is from My Craft Spot's Happy Fall stamp set. I used Spellbinder's Scalloped Circles die along with My Favorite Things Stitched Circle die to put the image on and added a little ribbon and twine.
I added a couple of swipes of my Wink of Stella pen for a little sparkle on the pumpkin and leaf to make it festive!  I hope you enjoyed checking out my Thanksgiving cards and hope you are not like me and waited so late to get yours in the mail. :-D
I would first like to say THANK YOU!! to everyone that stops by and visits my blog.  I appreciate your visits so much.  I am not blogging or blog visiting nearly as much as I used to and for that I apologize for the time you take out of your busy days to stop in and see what's new with me when I rarely do the same.  By no means have I stopped blogging, but my blog post will probably only be a few posts a month.  With work and me knitting like a crazy person, it's hard to do it all. Right now I'm making a blanket for my Mom for Christmas that I plan to leave with her when we visit next week for Thanksgiving.  I will continue to blog and posts as often as I can and will make an honest effort in getting by to visit you guys too, so with that THANK YOU AGAIN, for you visits and lovely comments and I wish you and your family a very blessed and...

Boss's Day Treats

Hi Bloggers!!!
I thought I would share the Boss's Day treat bags I made for my managers.  Most of you know I'm an Administrative Assistant and I support several people.  I'm not able to give each individual person an awesome gift to show how AWESOME they are, but I am able to give them a little something to let them know I enjoy working with them.
I took this picture with my iPhone just before leaving for work that day so probably not the best images, but you get the idea.  I used my Cricut to cut the tags from the Close to My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge using papers from Stampin Up.  Those deliciously delightful cookies are Pepperidge Farm Milano Cookies Dark Chocolate I placed them in medium plastic bags added the tag,  ribbon and twine to make them special and TA-DA!!
They really loved them and it made me feel good to know that they enjoyed them.  The funny thing is around 3:30pm in the afternoon a few of the managers came to me and thanked me profusely for the nice afternoon treat!  I don't know about you but it warms my heart to do little things for people.  It doesn't take a lot to brighten someone's day.

Thanks for stopping by!!!
